Wild Animal Park...

Today was fun. Aidan and I went to the Wild Animal Park with my sister and nephew Dillon. It was a quick trip - 3 hours - but we strolled through most of the park and took a few great pictures. Here's Aidan all smiles as the lion comes right up to the glass right in front of us:
Notice the female in the back of the car:
Another great moment was when I found out one of my dearest friends gave birth this morning. With her nursery decorated in elephants I thought this moment was fitting:
Goodbye March! Hello April!

who am i kidding?

so my last post was all about catching up on my blog and of course i still haven't. so my new goal is to just start blogging again - period -

4 months really?!?!?

My 2010 resolution is to spend my free time wisely
. Of course I want to relax when Aidan is sleeping but when does that leave me the time to update this blog, or send out the hand written cards to friends and family ... just because, to be creative, to give more of myself, and to read all the books I want to read!! So... since it is almost the end of January, I am starting, starting by trying to catch up on 4 months of time.

For 4 months, memories have been floating around in my mind and won't go away until I catch up on this blog.

Aidan's 1st Birthday
Halloween
Thanksgiving
Christmas
Seeing Santa for the 1st time
Desert Fun
Aidan's 1st Haircut
Chuck e Cheese

So sit back and enjoy the read.

***I wonder if there is a way to turn this blog into a hard cover. This cyber world is wonderful, but will my measly little blog still be around when Aidan is old enough to appreciate it???***

Bad Mommy, BAD!!!

So as it goes... Aidan at 10 months, 11 months, and now almost a year, I lost my camera and STILL have NOT gotten a new one. How can this be? How can I let these precious months slip past me?

I did happen to catch Aidan crawling for the very first time on my good ol' cell phone. Great quality let me tell you. This accomplishment came the day after turning 11 months. And to our surprise one of his top teeth broke skin. The o-joys of teething are back!!!

It has only taken a week and he is now all over the place. He has mastered the art of crawling. I set him down on his butt and IMMEDIATELY he is on his knees scoping out where he can go next.

In the same week he learned to crawl, Aidan is now standing up in his crib. Oh Man!! What used to be a very predictable (lay Aidan down in crib with paci and blankie - asleep within 5/10 minutes) bedtime, is now a protest (Aidan: "I don't want to go to sleep right now, can't you see I am standing here making noise, I want you to take me out of here so I can crawl some more"). I woke up in the middle of the night to Aidan whimpering in his room and I went in to check on him only to see him standing up with his little head peering over the rail, EYES CLOSED. Is he really standing there asleep?? To my surprise I give him his pacifier and sure enough he melts down and cuddles with his blankie. It was the most funny thing I have seen him do yet!!!

Ok, so maybe I am not a bad mommy, but hurry up and get a camera ALREADY!!!!

4th of July

4th of July was a lay low type of day due to the passing of Mr. D. I really had no energy to spend (even to go to the beach) because of the emotional energy spent over the last few weeks at work.

a simple day spent amongst family..

and to top off the night we watched fireworks on our balcony overlooking the La Costa Resort and Spa.  WOW talk about a personal backyard show!!!!
